The Best Vent Path:
The MV-180 is designed for when your vent path is in a straight, 180 degree line. The MV-180 coupled directly to your exterior vent creates one of the shortest and most efficient vent paths possible. This short, direct vent path gives you maximum vent port velocity, which gives you greater lint ejection and optimal dryer performance. Whenever possible, locate your dryer on the exterior wall and couple the MV-180 directly to your exterior vent. It's a simple installation that maximizes dryer's efficiency and safety, and it has a clean, finished look!
Close Offset with the MV-180:
- Offsets between 0-3 inches: The MV-180 can handle offsets of up to 3 inches from center to center. The closer to perfect alignment you can achieve with your installation, the better your vent path and the closer to the wall you can locate your dryer. With perfect alignment, the MV-180 requires 4 inches of clearance behind the dryer. If you have the maximum offset of 3 inches, your dryer will need to sit an additional 3 inches from the wall to allow for a bend radius in the transition duct.
- Offsets greater than 3 inches: For offsets greater than 3 inches and less than 6 inches, investigate if it is possible for you to shift the dryer's position in the room, or to relocate the vent in the wall. Otherwise, the MV-Flex is applicable.
- Offsets greater than 6 inches: Same wall offsets greater than 6 inches would best be handled by the MV-90 and a standard 4 inch diameter elbow.
