Couldn't have done it without MagVent!

Kevin Kelley

Another wonderful testimonial from Tara H. and her husband! Great pictures and installation.

“We built our home in 1987 and we were pretty happy that we could finally have an inside laundry room; albeit, a bit small. Back in 1987, only side by side washer/dryers were available. As one can note from the new cabinet arrangement, we could have never accomplished placing the stack-able washer/dryer in this location without MagVent. By the way to easily slide the stack-able back, spray WD40 Silicon on the floor. We gained about 4 inches in placing the washer/dryer back against the wall.

But what is nice if you will notice, we did not take the new left cabinet all the way to the floor so we now have a convenient place for the “cat box” instead of just out in the floor space. My wife wanted stack-ables and after 50 years of marriage, I made the comment that if we did stack-able, we would need all new cabinets—I was left with the stare that all husbands dread….as you can see…new cabinets and stack-ables.

Again, this could not have worked without MagVent and it so nice to get rid of the old dryer hose that was full of lint. The dryer now vents straight out the back as we re-stuccoed the old vent and made a new one.

Even if we were not going this this extent, this is a great product for older set-ups.”

Increased efficiency by eliminating yards of twisting turning vent pipe!

The kinked vent behind our newly installed compact stacked W/D was hidden from view, and only discovered when the dryer caught on fire. By changing to side-venting the dryer and installing the Magvent, we can now clearly see that we have a better, safer installation. Plus we increased efficiency by eliminating yards of twisting turning vent pipe ~and~ we gained valuable storage space because we were able to push the stack in and over by several inches more than before. Bonus!

Dryer Vent Safety: Cleaning out your Lint Filter

Kevin Kelley

Lint is a highly combustible material; therefore, it is an ingredient of the perfect recipe for a house fire. One of the most important things you can do to prevent dryer vent fires is cleaning out your lint filter. We recommend cleaning out your lint trap BEFORE and AFTER each load of laundry that you place in the dryer. You shouldn't ever run the dryer without the lint filter in place, because this removes your first line of defense against the lint building up in dangerous ways such as in the duct or dryer housing. This is a simple and easy way to help keep your laundry room safe and clean! A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency and save energy and space!

Fire Safety Week: The Dangers of Dryer Lint Fires

Kevin Kelley

According to the National Fire Protection Association, nearly 17,000 home clothes dryer fires are reported each year. These clothes dryer fires cause around 51 deaths, 380 injuries, and $236 million in property loss.

Dryer fire safety is a serious and often overlooked problem. It is our goal to both increase consumer awareness about the dangers of dryer fires, and to provide the solution, which is a minimum path vent and routine maintenance. MagVent makes maintenance a snap!

Easy Install, well worth the money!!

“I just installed magvent and it was pretty easy. I took my time and I had to cut away base board; well worth the money. I have replaced the vent so many times I can’t count. I always had leak issues and the tubes would seem to pop off constantly. Now it should work, and I really like that I don’t have to undo a clamp and reinstall one when I have to pull the dryer out!”

Dryer Vent Safety: Keeping the Surrounding Areas Clean

Kevin Kelley

There are a lot of important things to remember to help keep your laundry room safe and clean. One of the most important things to keep in mind is keeping the area surrounding your washer and dryer free of clutter and debris. A lot of people remember to clean out the lint trap; however, the lint from the dryer not only accumulates in the lint trap and dryer vent, but also underneat the dryer and behind it. The excessive heat caused by the dryer can easily ignite the lint and cause a house fire. A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency, save energy and space, and to keep your laundry room safe and clean!

October is Fire Prevention Safety Month!

Kevin Kelley

blogoctober 1.jpg

October is National Fire Prevention Month, a time when we should all be aware of ways to help learn fire safety and prevention. According to Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Acting Regional Director Dennis Hunsinger, most Americans underestimate their risk for fire, and many either lack emergency response plans – or fail to practice them with fire drills.

Annual observances like National Fire Prevention Week and National Fire Prevention Month are excellent opportunities to focus on fire hazards – but we should all practice fire safety every day—at home, at work and at play.

The NFPA offers a wealth of safety information, fire prevention tips and resources on their comprehensive website: www.nfpa.org. And I encourage everyone to contact your local fire department to learn more about making your home safer from fire, or how you can best participate in fire prevention activities.

Here at MagVent, LLC, we will be providing various tips, guidelines, and information on how to keep your home and family safe. A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency and save energy and space, as well as keeping your home safe from dryer fires that begin in the laundry room. We are always here to assist our customers, so if you have any questions or comments on our products or fire safety, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email at customerservice@magventllc.com, or give us a call at 1-888-960-7484!

“What a wonderful product! In our original search for a solution to our son's dryer vent situation at his newly purchased home, we found MagVent and realized that it would not only work for him but for our dryer also. Ordered double parts and went to work on ours first. Did not realize how bad our lint situation was! It took longer to clean up all the lint mess from original hookup than to install new system. What a difference in drying time with new MagVent also. So our search led us to this wonderful product!”

“New dryer. The installer wanted to use the rigid tube and elbow. This would have put the dryer about 12" from the wall in a tight room. Your device got me very close as the vent hole lined up nice with the dryer. And now I can pull it out to clean.”

“I finally did it!!! I saw your product advertised a few years ago on the NBC Today show and thought it was a great idea. I have always had issues with the existing venting anytime I pulled the dryer out to clean behind it. I tried to order the MV-90 at that time and the item was out of stock. Forgot about it and then I found my note regarding the Magvent and ordered it. I just installed yesterday all without the help of my husband. Love it. I have already shown it to someone and they thought it was ingenious!”

Unique product that delivers on its promise!

Kevin Kelley

“I have side-by-side stacked washers/dryers within cabinetry. The space is tight and contorting a traditional vent hose in this space was nearly impossible. MagVent was a clean and elegant alternative. Thank you for a unique product that delivers on its promise.”

Every dryer should come equipped with a MagVent!

Kevin Kelley

“My project involved moving a laundry from the basement to a small upstairs mud room. I went to the appliance store and measured the new dryer vent and then of course the only location possible for the dryer was going to hit a wall stud. It was about this time I stumbled on an ad for mag vent. After researching it I decided to give it a try. I offset the vent about an inch and waited for the dryer to be delivered. The installer of 22 years wondered what it was. After explaining to him to clamp the vent to the dryer and just slide it into place. I think every dryer should be equipped with a MagVent if for no other reason than it enables one to slide the dryer out for cleaning lint buildup and then slide back. Easy 10 min job.”

“The MagVent part was shipped promptly and delivered in great shape. I think the packaging was very well thought out. The installation was super easy and I can't imagine needing to replace it for the life of the house. It will make cleaning the vent so much easier now that I am not dealing with the clamps and the old semi rigid vents.”

There are many ways that improperly maintained dryer vents may have a negative effect on you and your family. A clogged or clamped off dryer vent hose is a perfect host to mold growth which can lead to an array of respiratory illnesses. Molds can cause a variety of symptoms, such as nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, eye irritation, wheezing and coughing, and possibly skin irritations as well. A properly maintenanced dryer vent can prevent mold growth in your laundry room. A MagVent product such as the MV-90, MV-180, or the MV-Flex, can reduce humidity levels by providing a proper ventilation system that is super easy to clean and maintain. The magnets allow a much easier cleaning process than your traditional dryer vent system. A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency, decrease mold accumilation, and save energy and space!
