"Thanks for the brilliant product!!"

Kevin Kelley

“My washer and dryer are in a very tight closet and the walls are solid concrete. I needed to get the units as close to the back wall as possible so I could close the closet door. But it’s a blind connection so I needed too much vent hose to connect before pushing them back into place. It wouldn’t compress enough to allow the stacked machines to go back far enough. Then I found MagVent!

I am now able to slide the stacked machines into place without any concern of having a solid connection with the exhaust vent. Everything lines up perfectly and snaps into place automatically. MagVent works perfectly for this unique situation but would have also worked great in every house I have ever lived in. I move often and will be using MagVents in all my future projects.

Thanks for the brilliant product!!”

Hi MagVent,

”When we moved into our new home one of the tasks I dreaded the most was installing my dryer.

I had seen a couple of YouTube videos and was curious about MagVent. I mentioned my curiosity to my brother n law who immediately began to rave about the MagVent he had recently purchased. So I took the plunge.

The moment I opened the box I was holding the best built dry vent I had ever held. It felts so sturdy. I looked at the space I had to work with at home and immediately felt confident I could knock this out with my handy new sidekick. MagVent made installation a breeze. I have included pictures of the before and after. I walked away feeling like a pro.

Thanks for this product. It made my life so easy.”

"MagVent Saved My House!"

Kevin Kelley

“While doing some deep spring cleaning, we noticed how bad our dryer vent situation was! We called MagVent, and they were kind enough to send out a technician to look at our problem. I can’t believe what he showed us! Our dryer vent was completely occluded, and even had a large tear in it. He explained to us the dangers of improperly maintained dryer vents, and MagVent really did save our house! If that lint would’ve caught fire, I don’t like thinking about what could’ve happened. He had the MV-90 installed in less than an hour, and our brand new dryer vent looks amazing and works so much better! Thank you MagVent!”

"Bottom Line is This Product is Awesome!"

“The first picture shows what had been my vent – short flex metal that was hard to align and did not have clamps on it; other pictures show installation.

Bottom line is this product is awesome and took about 30 minutes to install including cutting baseboard.

One thing I noticed is that because the output of dryer is fluted and tapered I could not get the hose to not easily be pulled off.  I thought about running 2 screws but as I know those collect lint I dismissed that idea.  Instead I cut 2 little notches in the dryer output and bent them back to effectively create like fish hook barbs 180 degrees apart.  I then clamped hose on and it is not coming off.  This little addition is no reflection on MagVent but is something I have noticed no matter what I have ever tried to clamp to a tapered dryer output.

I highly recommend this product”

“Just installed the MV 90 behind my dryer. I’ve been meaning to “clean up” the previous install. The wad of flexible tubing was installed by the delivery guys when we ordered our new washer and dryer. Legal ... yes ... quality install ... not so much! I took some before and after pictures.

You can see the difference and how much clutter has been cleaned up. As a former full time professional firefighter for over 30 years I can attest to the dangers of improperly maintained dryer venting.

Thanks to all at Magvent. Great product and will definitely recommend.”

Great product and I will recommend it to anybody!

Kevin Kelley

“I ordered a new washer & dryer set and I did not want to have the back of the dryer's flexible duct crunched the way it was with the old dryer. I knew that the old dryer was working hard to get air through that crunch flex duct. So I went about searching on YouTube for some options. I watched one video that required a pan installation, however, that required me cutting into the sheet rock without cutting any electrical wiring. So, I kept searching YouTube and ran across a video on your MV-90 system which lead to a video on the MV-180. Bing! The MV-180 my solution to my problem without having to cut into the sheet rock. I ordered the MV-180. I followed the instructions for installation, which by the way was simple and easy. Today my new dryer was delivered, finally after waiting for over a month due dealer mix-up for delivery. The delivery gentleman was impressed because he had not seen your type of dryer flex-duct system and of course it was going to attach the flex-duct the old fashion way to the exhaust port. He attached the flex-duct to the dryer exhaust port and extended the hose and presto. The magnetism did its job in self-aligning when we pushed the dryer into position. I truly thank you for your product and it was a work saver because I did not have to do any cutting into the sheet rock. Great product and I will recommend it to anybody that wants to close the space of their dryer in their laundry room, especially, those that have small laundry rooms. Once again, thank you for your product because it did the job and my dryer is closer to the wall without a crunched flex-duct!”

"I really like this product, and had an excellent experience with the company's service!"

Kevin Kelley

“I am usually pretty critical in my reviews, unless I really like something. But I really like this product, and had an excellent experience with the company's service. The product is a great idea, but I have to say that it would be a good idea to go to their website before you buy, and check out the different options that are available. I had originally ordered an option that didn't quite work with my dryer. I wasn't able to push the dryer close enough to the wall to make the supplied duct reach. Had I visited their website I would have found an option that would have worked better. In the end, the service person was able to get me the right thing, and it works really well. Worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. Makes going behind the dryer much easier. If you have ever had to try to squeeze behind your dryer after moving it further than the duct would extend, clean or replace the exhaust duct, this thing makes attaching and detaching the exhaust duct from the wall exit (or whatever) very easy. It sure worked for me. I highly recommend it.”

Dryer Vent Safety: Regularly Servicing your Dryer

Kevin Kelley

It is always important to keep your dryer maintenanced. Improperly maintained dryer vents can not only be a fire hazard, but can cause health concerns as well. When a dryer is functioning properly, it eliminates moisture during the drying process. If a vent is not in working order, for example if it is crushed or blocked with lint, the moisture that is emitted during the drying cycle can be trapped which will lead to mold and bacteria in the venting system. This can lead to many respiratory problems in your household. As for gas dryers, lint or another type of blockage can prevent the exhaust fumes from exiting correctly, which can build up dangerous levels of harmful gasses such as carbon monoxide.

There are a myriad of warning signs that your dryer ventilation system needs servicing and/or cleaning. If you have any of the following issues, it might be time to take action!

-If laundry is taking too long to dry, or if it is still damp after the cycle has completed, that might signal that there is a blockage or restriction in the venting system.

-If there is excessive amounts of heat being emitted in the laundry room area, this can be a sign that there is backup in the ventilation system.

-If you can smell your laundry detergent or dryer sheets during the cycle when the dryer door is closed, this shows that there is improper air ventilation.

-Any loud noises, such as metal-on-metal or squeaking, shows that the dryer is working too hard and that the essential oils have dried out. This can cause overheating and can be very dangerous; this can cause sparks and possible fires to occur. A ticking noise can signal that a belt requires replacement.

-No noises coming from the dryer can also be a bad sign; this can show that the dryer has completely overheated and blown the thermal fuse.

Overall, it is a good idea to make sure that your dryer is serviced. This can prevent many safety issues and keep your appliances in good working order. A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency and save energy and space!

Couldn't have done it without MagVent!

Kevin Kelley

Another wonderful testimonial from Tara H. and her husband! Great pictures and installation.

“We built our home in 1987 and we were pretty happy that we could finally have an inside laundry room; albeit, a bit small. Back in 1987, only side by side washer/dryers were available. As one can note from the new cabinet arrangement, we could have never accomplished placing the stack-able washer/dryer in this location without MagVent. By the way to easily slide the stack-able back, spray WD40 Silicon on the floor. We gained about 4 inches in placing the washer/dryer back against the wall.

But what is nice if you will notice, we did not take the new left cabinet all the way to the floor so we now have a convenient place for the “cat box” instead of just out in the floor space. My wife wanted stack-ables and after 50 years of marriage, I made the comment that if we did stack-able, we would need all new cabinets—I was left with the stare that all husbands dread….as you can see…new cabinets and stack-ables.

Again, this could not have worked without MagVent and it so nice to get rid of the old dryer hose that was full of lint. The dryer now vents straight out the back as we re-stuccoed the old vent and made a new one.

Even if we were not going this this extent, this is a great product for older set-ups.”

Dryer Vent Safety: Cleaning out your Lint Filter

Kevin Kelley

Lint is a highly combustible material; therefore, it is an ingredient of the perfect recipe for a house fire. One of the most important things you can do to prevent dryer vent fires is cleaning out your lint filter. We recommend cleaning out your lint trap BEFORE and AFTER each load of laundry that you place in the dryer. You shouldn't ever run the dryer without the lint filter in place, because this removes your first line of defense against the lint building up in dangerous ways such as in the duct or dryer housing. This is a simple and easy way to help keep your laundry room safe and clean! A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency and save energy and space!

Fire Safety Week: The Dangers of Dryer Lint Fires

Kevin Kelley

According to the National Fire Protection Association, nearly 17,000 home clothes dryer fires are reported each year. These clothes dryer fires cause around 51 deaths, 380 injuries, and $236 million in property loss.

Dryer fire safety is a serious and often overlooked problem. It is our goal to both increase consumer awareness about the dangers of dryer fires, and to provide the solution, which is a minimum path vent and routine maintenance. MagVent makes maintenance a snap!

October is Fire Prevention Safety Month!

Kevin Kelley

blogoctober 1.jpg

October is National Fire Prevention Month, a time when we should all be aware of ways to help learn fire safety and prevention. According to Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Acting Regional Director Dennis Hunsinger, most Americans underestimate their risk for fire, and many either lack emergency response plans – or fail to practice them with fire drills.

Annual observances like National Fire Prevention Week and National Fire Prevention Month are excellent opportunities to focus on fire hazards – but we should all practice fire safety every day—at home, at work and at play.

The NFPA offers a wealth of safety information, fire prevention tips and resources on their comprehensive website: www.nfpa.org. And I encourage everyone to contact your local fire department to learn more about making your home safer from fire, or how you can best participate in fire prevention activities.

Here at MagVent, LLC, we will be providing various tips, guidelines, and information on how to keep your home and family safe. A MagVent product, a properly designed duct system, and routine cleaning are the solutions to boost dryer efficiency and save energy and space, as well as keeping your home safe from dryer fires that begin in the laundry room. We are always here to assist our customers, so if you have any questions or comments on our products or fire safety, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email at customerservice@magventllc.com, or give us a call at 1-888-960-7484!
